The new album arrives on 2nd August in physical formats.
To sum it up here is a review by Ashley Beedle!!!!!
"Well it is an absolute treat for this new album from Gramme to drop in my lap. Steeped in avant punk funk that reminds me of classic downtown NYC Talking Heads, going uptown with ESG and meeting in the middle somewhere in Times Square!
This does not mean that this particular collection is a throwback. This is modern. Straight away the title track Discolovers pulls you in to declare I love this and this is what WE need. The tracks are short, sweet and to the point. Shout Me Up, Cool Cool Cool and Swimming have great potential to be strong singles. The album ends with the beautiful Holding On that has a real Grace Jones feel about it That ain’t a bad thing. Trust me.
This is Gramme’s first record since Fascination which came out on Tim ‘Love’ Lee’s Tummy Touch label in 2013. They have worked with the great Trevor Jackson and his Output label and been a big influence on notable acts James Murphy, Tim Goldsworthy, the DFA set up, Joe Goddard and Hot Chip.
‘ Gramme are amazing and have influenced Hot Chip a lot over the years, it just sounds great when they play together’ – Joe Goddard
‘ I love your band but I dunno whether to dance or pogo?! – DJ Nathan Gregory
Gramme – Discolovers will be released in August 2019 as a joint release on Gilded Lily / Love Vinyl"
